Last night, Michelin announced its inaugural restaurant selections for its Guide to the American South. Here are the Nashville restaurants that received Michelin Stars, plus the Bib Gourmand winners.
⭐ Nashville’s Michelin Star Winners
Michelin considers five criteria when evaluating which restaurants deserve its coveted three-star ratings: Quality of ingredients, harmony of flavors, mastery of techniques, chef personality as expressed through their cuisine, and consistency both across the entire menu and over time. The first Michelin Stars were awarded in 1926, and now they’ve become an important achievement for chefs, and a marker of a restaurant's success. Michelin had yet to release a guide to the American South — until now. Congrats to the three Nashville restaurants that received one star! I’ve included part of Michelin’s reviews for each restaurant below.
“Bastion offers a single tasting menu featuring contemporary Southern cooking that is approachable yet playful.”
“There is a simple elegance and a clear attention to detail in these dishes, all designed for sharing.”
“Headed by husband-and-wife chef duo Andy Doubrava and Tiffani Ortiz, there is a youthful, maximalist vibe to this cuisine, and a degree of dedication to locality, seasonality, and preservation.”
💰 Nashville’s Bib Gourmand Winners
Bib Gourmand winners are restaurants that Michelin designates as offering quality food at a good value. Here are the local restaurants that made that list:
