It’s the Friday News Roundup, and we’re talking Best of Nashville! Producer Marie Cecile Anderson and executive producer Whitney Pastorek are joined by Nashville Scene editor in chief D. Patrick Rodgers to break down the big winners in this year’s issue. They’re also discussing the city’s decision to demolish structures at Old Tent City and one council member’s call for resignations in the Office of Homeless Services, and celebrating the long lines at early voting locations as the transit referendum is finally in front of voters.

And stick around after the roundup for our Don’t Go Gently tip for the weekend, presented by our exclusive launch sponsor, Tecovas. Some of the best chefs in Nashville are teaming up for a bake sale to raise money for people impacted by Hurricane Helene. Frankie’s Nashville is hosting the event, starting Sunday at noon until they’re sold out. Participating restaurants include Audrey, Folk, Kisser, Locust, Shotgun Willie’s, Mijo Gordito, Noko, Redheaded Stranger and many more. From sweet treats to onigiri, it’s the most delicious way to help your neighbors. Don’t go gently, go in Tecovas!

Early voting is open now! Here is a link to times and locations, as well as a sample ballot.
